WHO WE ARE
Syreon Research Institute was founded in 2008 by Professors Zoltán Kaló, Zoltán Vokó, and Paul Keown as an independent, research-focused organization committed to advancing public health and nutrition science through rigorous evidence-based research, policy analysis, and data modelling.
1995
Syreon Corporation was established by Professor Paul Keown in 1995 in Vancouver, Canada, originally under the name “Synectics Corporation.” The term “synectics” derived from Greek, refers to the merging of unrelated elements and the creativity that emerges from collaboration across diverse fields. The company initially aimed to combine medical, pharmaceutical, statistical and information sciences to conduct international healthcare research.
2000
By 2000, Synectics had rapidly expanded, partnering with a prestigious portfolio of global pharmaceutical corporations, biotechnology companies, and academic networks. As the name had already been registered in the USA, Synectics rebranded as Syreon (SYnectics REsearch ONline) to highlight its comprehensive electronic research solutions (Clinstream™). This method integrates clinical, laboratory, health outcomes, and economic data to evaluate treatment effectiveness and value. Today, although Syreon Corporation remains based in Vancouver, it conducts business in over 40 countries.
2008
In 2008, Syreon Research Institute was officially established in Budapest by Zoltán Kaló, Zoltán Vokó, and Paul Keown, focusing on health economics, health policy, and pricing research. The Institute adopted the Syreon name due to its shared principles and commitment to supporting innovation in academic and public institutions, as well as multinational companies. What began as a small core team has grown into an independent international organization with over 50 colleagues collaborating with 150 partners, including major universities, public organizations, NGOs, and private companies worldwide.
