As part of the REMEDi4ALL project, our colleagues, Marcell Csanádi, Dalma Hosszú & András Perényi hosted a workshop held exclusively for REMEDi4ALL Funder’s Network members, including public, private, and philanthropic funders, to showcase the newly developed REMEDi4ALL Value Framework in real-world scenarios.
The framework, developed by our colleagues in collaboration with ZonMw & Anticancer Fund, offers a structured and transparent way to assess the value of repurposing candidates—far beyond traditional clinical endpoints. It captures patient-centred, societal, and scientific value to guide smarter funding and research decisions.
During the workshop, we explored different scenarios, these value judgments, practical prioritisation and investment choices from multiple perspectives. This is a crucial step toward enabling transparent decision-making across funders with different expertise and strategic priorities, making the framework broadly applicable in diverse funding contexts and co-funding settings.
At the earlier REMEDi4ALL Patient Bootcamp, Dalma Hosszú also presented the framework as a way to bring greater transparency to how repurposing projects can be assessed, helping patient advocates engage more effectively in funding calls and decisions.
